Fleetly Flee!

8 hours left, and we are outta here! Yes, I am using my blog as an excuse to put off the final preparations for the trip. But then again, this is important too. You can always buy more socks.

It makes me sad that I live in a place where I feel such a need to escape from. I am already dreading returning in a month to everything but the cats, turtles, and fish. But, I know the next month will be a ton of fun, and give us plenty of time away from this frozen tundra. That said, today, Devin and I were going around singing the following song. Apologies to Rogers and Hammerstein, the Von Trapp family, Walt Disney, and of course Julie Andrews and Chris Plummer (he and I are tight, cause I love him in International Velvet too so I call him Chris).

"There's a happy sort of clanging
From the clock in the hall
And the bells in the steeple, too
And up in the nursery
An absurd little bird
Is popping out to say woo-hoo!
(Woo-hoo! Woo-hoo!)

  Ecstatically they tell us
  and firmly they compel us
to say farewell to YOUUUUUUUUUUU

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, goodbye!
I can't wait to go and leave this horrific sight

So long, farewell
Auf Wiedersehen, adieu
 Adieu, adieu
to snow, tornadoes, and zillions of mosquitos too!

So long, farewell
Au revoir, Auf Weidersehen
  If I wanted to stay
I'd really be insane!

So long, farewell
Auf Weidersehen, goodbye
I leave and heave
with relief and say goodbye
Goodbye

I'm glad to go
I cannot tell a lie
I flit, I float
I fleetly flee, I drive

The snow has gone
away and so will I
To return reluctantly
or maybe not if good luck comes by...

So long, farewell
Auf Weidersehen, goodbye

Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye
Goodbye

Tomorrow we be blogging from an undisclosed location. Stay tuned!
