Sea Dragon

We had visitors this weekend and decided to go on a sea adventure.

Skim boards were raced on

Ramses hunted for birds

Which flew out to sea

Others worked finding the elusive sea dragon

After much digging the sea dragon was liberated

The victorious! (missing Judi the artist, she was taking pictures too)

We also found a message in a bottle (really!)

Contemplating life and sand

Making a sea dragon baby

Some Bunny New

Bunnies! I have been waiting for bunnies for years. Waiting till I lived somewhere with more room, better weather, and a garden. Waiting to be back in the Northwest.

Truth be told I was going to wait till next year, but that didn't happen. I am bad at waiting. And I waited a long time in hot-humid-buggy-freezing-tornadoey-blizzardy Minnesota. I was done.

Introducing.... Well, they don't have names yet. Pansy? Petunia? Clover? Merida, Ariel, and Jasmine? Arabella, Anabeth, and Eliza? I am not sure. I told my nephews they could name them, the one is refusing because he ALWAYS named the animals, and then his brother bemoans the fact. But the brother can't seem to think of a name. So we stagnate. Any suggestions?

This little one is the most outgoing. Here she is critiquing my spinning
fiber choice. She has an opinion on everything!

This is her sister, who is shy and thinks things through before diving in.
She is VERY sweet though, and really likes to be petted. They're
both lionheads so they will lose that fluffy coat most likely.

The clown of the group is the mini lop. Once I got the other 2,
I decided to add a lop as I love their personalities. She is adorable!

Helping me spin

Sitting outside the bunny condo. It is 7 feet by 2 feet, but during
the day they have the run of the porch.

Looking at the big world outside. I am working on a moveable exercise
pen for them out there too. Lucky bunnies.
Of course the reason I got them has nothing to do with how fluffy, cute, cuddly and funny bunnies are. I got them strictly to help with the gardens. Yes. Completely practical. SQUEEEE bunnies!

10 Things

1 - It's July. It's hot. But not here. Here it is in the 60s. We escaped to where there is a huge natural air conditioner called the ocean. Good call on our part I think.

2 - I am busy. Somehow busier than before. Tomorrow I will walk around the house and take photos to show what I have been doing.

3 - I have bunny rabbits. I am excited. I pointed out to less excited people that they are cheaper than fish tanks. And they make great fertilizer for the gardens.

4 - It's Tour De Fleece time again. I am spinning. It gives me an excuse to do so. I need an excuse.

5 - It is incredibly hard to convince an almost 13 year old digging a hole for a rose bush is just as fun as digging a hole on the beach. I think I need younger kids to convince.

6 - It is summer. I love summer in the Northwest. I know there is the reputation it rains all the time, but that is really wrong. Summer is mild sunkissed days, cool nights, and flowers everywhere.

7 - Does anyone else get the urge to go into a Golden Corral and put their cotton candy in the chocolate waterfall thingie?

8 - Speaking of chocolate waterfalls, I made 12 half pints, and 4 pints of strawberry freezer jam this past weekend. My niece Sophie who was visiting said it tasted like a chocolate waterfall in her mouth. I think that was a compliment. We also made fat free vegan scones. Vegan scones and strawberry freezer jam are awesome.

9 - Next up is blueberries. I am not sure whether to make jam though or just to freeze them for later. Or simply eat all 6 pints which is what I did with the first pint I got.

10 - I hope everyone is enjoying the summer, staying cool, and taking a little time to smell the flowers or pet the bunnies.

My first 2 TDF Collages :).
