After we conquered the Cascades, we ended up driving straight to the Rainier valley where we could see if Mt Rainier was out. She was! And it was the start of 3 gorgeous days spent playing there.
A lot of trips out west, we get caught in the Seattle trap. And while Seattle is a great city, it's not where I grew up, and there is so much more to see and do in the area. This trip, we decided to make it a trip of Firsts. For the kids anyway. In that spirit, we headed out for adventure. First up was visiting with Mom's friend Marilyn. They hadn't seen each other in years, as Marilyn lives in Alaska (truly the frozen tundra - but she likes it?!) From there - we set out to Auburn, where I grew up to see what there was to do.
