Yarn Flurries

Finally I finished plying the last of the 2nd bobbin of Cormo. I had a lot of help with this one. I take back what I said about Ramses growing up. He has grown up into adolescence. In the past 2 days, he has stolen more yarn, and found more dangerous objects to show me. And every time I'd sit down to ply he'd either get tangled int the yarn, or else he'd start bringing me tennis balls or toys. Or he'd come bouncing into the room with a skein of yarn, or a ball of roving in his mouth, and a sparkle in his eye waiting for me to chase him. Whatever the case was, I managed to get most of it plied during my DVR of Once Upon a Time (I think it's the proximity to Rumplestiltskin that makes me need to spin during that show) and then the rest today. I'm up to 740 yards now. I'm going to finish off the remaining fiber. I'm hoping for over 1000 yards. Upon reflection, doesn't this remind you of an early fall snow? White with just flecks of green.. Or a field of daisies. Ooh, I like that better. No flurries, just daisies...

My New Pet

It's warm, and fuzzy, and soft. I shall pet it, hug it, and name it George.

Three Irish Girls in Brigit

I am part Irish

And I love green!

Bell and I wound it. Now what to make with it...

I have spent the last few months telling myself I do not, absolutely not, need this skein of yarn. For one thing, I don't use sock yarn really. For another thing, I don't need a 35.00 skein of merino/cashmere sock yarn. For a third, I absolutely don't need more yarn at all. And I mean, I can spin Cashmere, I have it sitting here in droves. I can even handpaint it.

But a trip to the LYS today, ended up with George in my bag. Now, this is way too nice for any pair of socks I might be able to turn out. So what should I make this pet yarn into??? Hmmmm.

What else came from the LYS? A skein of Malabrigo Rasta is Seattle Mariners colors. A skein of Malabrigo Rios for a hat. And a skein of Malabrigo twist for a scarf. Evidently it was a Malabrigo kinda day.
Mercury believed it was an electric throw kinda day

So did Neptune. They've figured out how to turn these on.

Yarny Happiness

Trip to yarn store + new yarn = happiness!

Araurana, at HALF OFF! They have more, will be going back for it!

Noro Taiyo just cause.

Cascade 220 for a project I have in mind.

And another set of circular needles for mom. Who has decided she wants to make a hat. So I showed her how to magic loop tonight. Her ribbing is amazing.

Meanwhile my other fingerless mitt is almost done. Personally I believe no 2 objects should really 'match' including pairs of mitts. Their originality is important right? Thought so.
